Latest Updates from Our Project:

Books shipping out from the printer soon!
20 days ago – Mon, Dec 02, 2024 at 06:46:43 PM

Did everyone have a terrifying Thanksgiving?

With... (*screams*)... family?

Hope you all survived the horror of the day and are ready to face another monster soon.

As for me, I sat down to follow up with the printer this morning when a note came in from her saying this:

Our books have been packed up and are shipping out this week!

She expects the holidays will delay things a bit, but with any luck I'll have them at Bloodline HQ shortly after the new year. She's promised to get back to me soon with a better estimate, which I will duly report to you, Gentle Reader.

And at that point, maybe I can fill you in a bit on our plans for CARMILLA in 2025...

Thanks, as ever, for your patience and support.

Printing + Shipping Update
about 1 month ago – Thu, Nov 21, 2024 at 05:24:38 PM

Hey there Gals and Ghouls -

It's getting late here, so I'll make like a slasher and cut right to the chase:

A few weeks back, the printer let me know that the books have been printed and bound, though they still needed to be packed and shipped.

I was waiting to update you until I had a firm "in-hand" date, but I haven't heard anything since then.

I've requested an update, and as soon as I have something to report, I'll jump back on here and give you the skinny.

As ever, thanks for your patience. We know it's going to be worth the wait!

Meanwhile...

Over at Fried Comics, we're going back to the future.

Ten years ago, Alexandre O. Philippe and I teamed with artist Leila del Duca, colorist Brett Nienburg, and letterer Charles Pritchett to create DEADSKINS!, a zombie horror western comedy for mature readers.

(Think “Blazing Saddles” meets “The Walking Dead.”)

We serialized it on our website, and later brought it to comiXology. Finally, in 2020, we Kickstarted a “remastered” edition, darkening the lines to bring out the beauty of our black, white, and red production.

We printed all five issues over three volumes, and at the time, each volume was our highest grossing campaign ever.

Now, just a few scant years later, we are nearly sold out of our original run of DEADSKINS!, so that means it’s time for THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY EDITION!

This hardcover collection will contain a full cover gallery and exclusive, never-before-collected bonus material.

If you missed out on those first campaigns—or just love hardcovers!—click the image above or…

Back soon with more news about NT3D as soon as I have it...

The Proof has been approved!
2 months ago – Thu, Oct 17, 2024 at 08:34:20 AM

Hi all -

Quick note to let you know that the proof arrived on Friday, and it looks great:

The 3-D really pops!

I gave Sam at Printlore the thumbs up to put this into production right away. Waiting to hear back on when these will ship out to Bloodline HQ and I can start putting them in your hands.

As ever, thanks for your patience. It will be rewarded handsomely!

Meanwhile, if you're looking for more horror entertainment, contributor Mick Beyers (Dreamquest, White Ash) just launched the remastered edition of his Lovecraft/Washington Irving mash-up HOLLOW:

Hollow: A Lovecraftian Horror Story for Mature Readers

Here's the pitch: The Warlock Ichabod Crane seeks to wake the Elder God beneath Sleepy Hollow, and the Witch Katrina Van Tassel must stop him.

The original edition came out from Source Point Press a few years back, but Mick is remastering the story with new material. This 128 page graphic novel is indeed graphic, so ifyou don't mind a little sex with your magic...

OK, back soon when I have an ETA on NT3D!

Proof is on the way! + Son of Monsterpalooza & more...
2 months ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 12:32:01 PM

Hi there, Horror Hounds -

I was holding off on updating until we had the printer's proof in hand... but unfortunately the printer shipped it to the print broker instead of us. Sam at PrintLore has forwarded it our way, and it should arrive in the next day or two.

Sadly, I'll have to wait until next week to check it out, because this weekend, Devilish David Schrader and I will be appearing in sunny Burbank, CA for SON OF MONSTERPALOOZA

If you're in the area, come fight the crowds who came to see Ozzy Osbourne & Bruce Campbell and say hi!

And if you need some horror entertainment to tide you over until the book arrives, may I humbly suggest you check out the latest episode of the Part-Time Fanboy Podcast?

Someone (namely Kristian Hans Horn) *finally* invited me on a podcast to talk about why I think PSYCHO III is a worthy sequel to Hitchcock's masterpiece. Joe Slepski and Yvis Cannavale join us for a fun chat that was like the lifespan of a guest at the Bates Motel--way too short.

Don't make Mother angry! Click the image below to listen...

Back real soon with pics of the proof...and hopefully some news on when the book will ship.

Burbank bound,

Printing Update

Meanwhile, in the last month, we've been engaging with printers and evaluating quotes. I'm happy to report that the printer has been selected and all files have been delivered!

We did a test print on some pages at home, and I gotta say--the 3-D effect looked even better in print than it did on the screen. I noticed details that conversion-master Shawn Gabborin put in that I hadn't noticed before. Very excited to get this into your hands!

But before we can do that, we are going to do a test print with the printer, just to make sure there are no kinks to iron out before we do the full run. I'll send pics when I have them!

(Speaking of the full run, it's looking likely this will print some time in October, but I will keep you posted on that score.)

As always, thanks again for your support--the book literally wouldn't exist without you!
